Gogo Boys bulky hitman Hillary Shirao has set record in Kriss Darling Super Cup for bagging Golden boots for the third time in a row.
The talisman scored eight goals in the fifth edition of highly contested tournament.
Shirao clinched Kriss Darling Super Cup Golden boots for the first time in 2018 with six goals.
He once again scooped the tournament top scorer award for the second time in 2019, for leading the top scorer’s summit with seven goals.
The forward linked up his outstanding display over the two years in the annual Dj sponsored tournament to having strong faith in God and giving his best in every assignment .
”My secrecy behind good display is putting God first in whatever I engage in. And giving my best in every tournament assignment. God is my pillar. He always fight for me. I remember there was a time I had three goals in the tournament, and there were players who had seven goals.
“But I didn’t give up. I believe I will score more goals to overtake them,” Shirao said.
He further added that the Kriss Darling Super Cup organiser was doubtful if he would win the top scorer award.
The former Kibera Lexus striker lauded his teammates for helping him to win the award for the third time in arrow by having confidence in him.
The lethal finisher says his teammates supported him in a big way by giving him confidence and morale to work extra harder to bag the top scorer award for notching eight goals in Kriss Darling Super Cup Tournament.The Upper Hill high school alumnus hailed football stakeholders in Kibra for playing key role in boosting soccer standards in the area.
He, however, asked more investors to upgrade playing grounds and support grassroot clubs with allowances to motivate players.
The 2018 Ramadhan Cup champions finisher said the improvement in football standards has resulted to competition among players in Kibra teams.
“When talents are nurtured, the rate of crime will go down in the community,” the top scorer said.
The Golden boots award was presented to the top scorer by Harambee Stars winger Ayub Timbe.
During the awards presentation, Timbe promised the Golden boots winner Sh30, 000 and two pairs of boots.
