Kenya confirms new record of COVID-19 cases in a day

Kenya has recorded 213 new cases of COVID-19 after 6, 024 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman announced on Thursday.

The total number of cases in the country has now risen to 4,254.

Of the cases, 198 are Kenyans and 15 are foreigners.

Sixty two of the cases are females while 151 are males.

The cases range between age one year and 73 years.

The cases are distributed in Nairobi 136, Mombasa 32, Kajiado 13, Kiambu 7, Busia 5, Nakuru 4, Machakos 4, Garissa 3, Isiolo 3, Taita Taveta 1, Kitui 1, Migori 1, Narok 1 and Embu 1.

A record 106 patients have been discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,459.

“We have, however, lost the largest number of patients in a day at 10. Total fatalities have now risen to 117,” Rashid said.
