He has had a couple of collaborations among them with Octopizzo in 2017 which also seems to have been his breakthrough.

Kevin Munene, popularly known as Boutross said shrap music is a local content of different rap song styles that bring the identity to what you talk about in the song.

“Shrap songs to me are just like any other songs that any artistes can sing but now it depends on what you talk about and how you put it out there,” he said.

The soft- spoken rapper was born in Meru but raised in Nairobi. He has since learnt how to balance both of his lives.

“I feel blessed for having the opportunity to taste both sides of the coin since I go back home and live the life there too once in a while,” he said.

Nowadays there are tons of upcoming musicians introducing different content into the industry that needs someone to be a bit unique and creative especially when they are coming up with his or her song but to Boutross he said he is very different.

“I am unique and very careful every time I composes a song. It is up to me to be different so and guard my shrap,” the rapper joked.

He added that he is not just only a shrap rapper but a representation of young people.

“In the street, I sing about what young people go through all the time.” More often than not, parents sometimes do not tolerate or accept the decisions that their children make especially when it comes to art but Boutross’ parents totally support their son in music both financially and spiritually as well.

“My parents greatly support me whe it even comes to my music and I do give them the respect they both deserve. My fans are a huge positive contribution to my well known career and for that, I appreciate them as well,” the hit maker of Tergat Gang said.

Working with Octopizzo the rapper greatly contributed to his career something he said brought a lot of opportunities to his musical journey. “When we did the collabo with Octopizzo, it was a great project.

I can say that working with him really influenced my fan base positively and the song that we did together was well received by people and even up to date it is still played all over the country,” he said.

Boutross concluded by saying for now he is working on his single songs and some few collaborations which he would want to drop before the year ends.
